How they Work

The Midgeater (machienes ) machines attract the midges by the emission of carbon dioxide, that passes over a bait sachet, which has been formulated to mimic the same gas concoction created by mammals including us!

The gas that powers the machienes create an electrical current by means of a catalytic process which, as well as constantly producing the carbon dioxide plume, also drives the suction fan that will, once the Midges are close enough, suck them into a bag from which there is no escape.

Once the machine has been started, it will operate continuously so it is now important to site the machine in the most appropriate position which in simple terms means in between the main concentration of Midges and yourself. Weather conditions and shifting locations of the insects means that you should be prepared to relocated your machine accordingly.
